Well, yesterday i had a chance to test out how strong my Skeet Reese 7' crankin rod is.....accidently. Well last night i put on my brand new matching Skeet Reese baitcaster and threw some 30# PowerPro on it. I was sitting on my bed just feeling out the new reel on the rod. You know, playing with the spool tensioner, tighening the drag....all that good stuff. Well....i have a 9' ceiling in my room, sitting on my bed which is about 2 1/2' or so off the ground and directly above me is a ceiling fan which hangs down about a foot. Well all of the sudden, the rod shoots out of my hand, i look up and my PSI trout colored lure falls and hits me in teh face. I see the rod all tangled up in teh ceiling fan blades spinning in a circle above me!! I jump up and flip off the switch....it took me a good 10 minutes or so to untangle my rod and line out of the ceiling fan!! Well, my rod didnt have a SINGLE SCRATCH on it!! Pretty damn tough rod! I think im feel comfortable pulling in any fish i look for with it!!!
You're lucky. I did that to my brand new calstar 9' rod. Long story short I sill have that rod but it now a 7 1/2'. You gonna catch a monster with the set up for sure.
ceiling fan approved, oh man that made me laugh, hope the lure is OK!
yeah, lure is ok, rod is ok, line is only about a foot shorter, but ok
Thats some funny stuff, well that fact every thing is OK, it is!!!
yeahm just cant believe the 30# powerpro broke.....thats some pretty heavy duty stuff!
My experience with those rods are not good. I've broke 3 on hook sets. Each time in the same spot.
