King Barrack gave his State of the Union speech last night. Among the lies and other ramblings, he vowed to pass new, stricter gun laws, with or without congress. The King decreed, “Citizenship means standing up for the lives that gun violence steals from us each day. I have seen the courage of parents, students, pastors, and police officers all over this country who say ‘we are not afraid,’” he said, “and I intend to keep trying, with or without Congress, to help stop more tragedies from visiting innocent Americans in our movie theaters, shopping malls, or schools like Sandy Hook.”
His way of stopping a tragedy is by using executive orders. These orders bypass the constitution and the congress. These orders completely nullify the checks and balances system that we rely on for protection from tyrants and totalitarians.
Obama wants the citizens of this country to be dependent on the government. This has never been more evident than last night during Obama’s speech. He wants us to depend on him for medical care, retirement, and protection. This is where we need to draw a line in the sand. He needs to understand that we will not sit idly by as he attempts to backdoor us on the Second Amendment. He is the camel in the tent, inching his way in a little at a time until the camel occupies the entire tent and the owner is out in the sand storm. We cannot allow the camel to even get his nose inside the tent.
This man lives in an alternate universe. He had the gall last night to declare Obamacare a victory. If he is willing to see Obamacare as a victory, what other skewed views does he harbor inside his head? He will enact executive orders, which will go contrary to the constitution—infringing on our Second Amendment rights. The most angering part of his speech is that he knows what he is saying is a lie. He knows that his laws will do nothing to control or eliminate these violent acts that he speaks of.
We must accept the fact that violent acts are not going away, no matter what measures are taken. The carnage of these acts can be minimized by having concealed carry citizens ready to take action. The acts themselves will continue, no matter what laws are passed and what executive orders are decreed. If Obama gets his way and bans guns altogether, these acts of violence would continue. The perpetrators would simply choose a different weapon, just like the men who killed the British Soldier on the streets of London using a machete, or Timothy McVeigh who used a bomb to kill so many Okies, and let’s not forget that plain old box cutters that started the largest killing on American Soil. I hate to admit it, but evil will always find a way to rear its ugly head.
Do not be fooled — Obama is intent on getting rid of guns. He knows that this cannot be done in one fell swoop. But, much like eating an elephant, it must be done one bite at a time, and he intends on getting his bites in.
These violent acts will not be stopped unless the shooter is killed before he can do more damage. I don’t want to come across as a doomsayer, but I am a realist. I have given much thought to this issue during my life, and it seems to me that no one wants to be the one to say that violence is simply part of the human experience. Politicians will continue to lead by knee-jerk reaction, as proven by Obama’s speech last night. His answer to solving a problem is a new executive order. We don’t need new laws. We don’t need bigger government. We need to come to the realization that we the people are responsible for ourselves and our actions. We need a legal system that we can count on to uphold the laws that we have. We do not need a dictator circumventing the constitution in order to get his way. He knows the American people do not want more gun laws. If they did, then congress would pass them. But, congress has no interest in passing more gun laws because they have an election cycle coming up and they do not want to be unemployed. There’s nothing and no one to blame for these types of violent events except for the people who commit them.

Once we are dependent on them, they have absolute power. We must fight back. Our voices must be heard and they must be telling the same message: We will not accept this breach of trust, nor will we accept Obama’s disregard for the constitution through executive order.
