Squid are here
#1
Squid seems to be so thick that it made the news today on the radio. Coming home from work I heard Oceanside Landing on KNX 1070 reporting. They stated from Dana Point to San Diego it's on. Just tonight Davy's Locker located in Newport Beach reporting 340 were on the deck for 15 guys.. If this is your thing, catch a years full with one trip. Time to get linked!

Don't feel bad for the crews, they are getting out when they normally wouldn't. These squid may be destructive to our local waters, but they are the shot in the arm our industry needs during the winter. For you LB guys, I ran over a spot of humbolt squid on the way to Catalina. On a straight line from Huntington Harbor, to the West End, just west of Pedro Canyon. That puts you straight out in front of Pt. Fermin, about 5 miles. Lots of birds and market squid, with humbolts all over eating the market squid. It was during the day (both on the way there, and back) and one could see the giant squid on the surface, squirting and inking. Not another boat in sight. Just find the birds, and you are there.
