1 rig for all purpose use is the question.
For someone getting into fishing and going fresh and salt water. what should someone get?
if i where to be asked this question, for a first timer just getting into the sport.
i would say a go medium light 6 foot rod with either spinning or bait caster reel, which ever feels better. 8 to 12lbs range for line.
Maybe a combo from one of the shops or chain stores $40 to $80 range.

I'm with Choodak I avoid lots of things for fear I will it. Didn't listen to Pink Floyd or The Doors for years because everyone I knew liked them. I liked to argue with them about it. Now I'm a closet fan of both. Still wont admit to them tho.

See twoguys, this fishformen and choodakabizznatch guys. I never opened my month. So happy I got a revo. I took it with me to show them, and it's been a never ending story since then.. Lol they hate what is so good. They know that at the moment they are a great product. They know these revos have shitmano back to the drawing boards. They just hate to admit abu is good. They are the type of guys when you say, man the lakers suck this year. Clippers are on a roll. They would respond, "o ya, well how many championships do the clippers have." It doesn't matter about the past, it matters what's going on now!

so what is the rig so far Oatums really the only one who has got into the question. what is a good inexpensive combo for someone new to the world of fishing?
i know location plays a roll with this, hence why i chose a salt/fresh water combo. oatums had a great point about the spinning reel with 2 spools.
thoughts?

I would go with a baitcaster and maybe like a 7 foot rod that is medium. Line the reel with 30lb braid and then you can always change the leader to what lb line you want. Bass pro always has good deals on their brand combos
