A stormy story

A stormy story
My last report things were pretty rosy with trophy sized fish moving in a putting anglers to the test. This week tropical storm Ivo skirted by in the Pacific and all but completely shut off the bite. Seas have been rough, rainy and not for the weak at heart.

The last part of August and early September is the height of our hurricane season and the time most likely for a tropical weather. It is a time when southern Baja has less tourist traffic because many are not willing to take the risk. It is also a time that can be outstanding and very rewarding when no weather is brewing.

Now about half the boats targeting marlin and dorado are having success while the other half are going without. Boats searching for tuna have gotten the goose egg for several days. Porpoise have been hard to find in the chop and hard to stay with once located.

The weather is starting to straighten out and it can turn on as quick as it turned off but it looks like we might be looking down the throat of another system heading our way. Stay tuned!

We only fished one day this week and elected to stay inside. Snapper, amberjack, marlin and dorado all showed on our score card.
