DFG
#1
These past few months I've been on the water quite a bit. Nearly every time we get out the water a DFG Rep comes to "bug us" with a survey. "Where did you go? What bait did you use? How big and how much fish did you get? And can I see them?" It's kinda annoying and they aren't a badged officer. So I have been wondering if we can just tell them to get lost? Well I made the phone call to the DFG this week. The answer was "No, you must participate." I asked if it was in the "Law" that we needed to? His answer was this, " We have a bullet are are back by everyone hating us. We ask that you do participate so we can help you. By not participating you are only falsifying documents on actual daily catch records. By you allowing us to do the survey we can accurately get proper data to help the future of fishing. I fish too and on the water many days of the year. The last thing I want is have this taken away from our grandchildren. By you helping us, it's helping you." So the answer to my question is, let the come on board and check out what is being caught. 5 min ain't gonna kill us, and it leads to our future fishery.

Nice research and so true. It doesn't hurt to answer a few questions. After all they are only trying to do the jobs they were task to do.

its a double edge sword, and NO YOU DO NOT HAVE To report to them, FYI the DFG person was incorrect about that, YOU have the right to say no.

Yeah, but why say no? It's just a couple of questions...

MLPA that is WHY!
the DFG or DFW is the MLPA those people are trying to get these questions out of us sport guys.
1. where did you fish today, do have locations and/or numbers?
2. what method of take did you use?
3. what did you catch, what was your target species?

MLPA is a bunch of anti fishing people... when they come talk to me here are my reponses.
1. the pacific ocean
2. hook and line
3. blue gill and mac's

Reason the info given to them is used to cut our limits and catches every year. these people do not care about weather and currents and why fish do or dont show up. they do not want us fishing.
if you have been checked by a warden you know there is a major difference, these people most of the time are doing this job for credits to get a degree, no intention of helping us or knowing what is really going on, also they have most of the time no clue on what species of fish are out there.

Sorry i do not trust them.

How much involvement could the DFG had with the budget they run on? (This is a honest question) Isn't 100% outside resources that funded the project and provided false documentation?
