East Cape - Always exciting

East Cape - Always exciting [/url]

Great weather and excellent fishing has been pleasing anglers.  Yellowfin tuna showed up in March and have been consistently bending rods ever since.  Striped marlin have also been very consistent, now blue marlin have showed with a few sailfish in the mix.  Wahoo have also been on the scorecard for anglers willing to put in the time.

Yesterday we encountered a pod of orcas.  We see them from time to time and they are always exciting to watch.  This particular event was very exciting because they were playing with a giant sunfish.  I have never seen anything like this sunfish.  This monster had to be 7 or 8 feet across.  The orcas were so occupied  we were able to get close to the male who normally stands off and is not social like the females.

There is never a dull moment in the magnificent Sea of Cortez.

They escaped with the money but couldn't take away our win.Vaquera won $17,500 with team "Bad Karma" aboard.  They didn't let us know we won until the following day, left town with the prize and didn't share a dime.
