Fishing aboard the Chief in SD
#1
So I arrived at H&M at 7:00 pm put all my gear on the boat grabbed a bunk and talked to the crew. Once it was dark I grabbed my rod and start fishing on the dock before we left. And I managed to catch one spotty and farm two. So I was like a great start. The next morning around 5:45 we started fishing around the Tuna pens for bluefin right off the bat a few people hooked up but only two were landed. So after an hour we of drifting we moved to another spot and people on the other boats were hooked up. So I grab a great dine and cast it out and about 5 mola mola were by the boat and then my reel goes ZZZZZZZZZZZZ but I miss it then BOOOM I was on and the 15 min fight was on and I landed that nice BFT. Then fishing slowed and we patty fished the rest of the day the seond patty we came up to I hook up and the my fish went right into the kelp and I was srewed but the bite slowed and Captin Chris and the wonderful crew chased down the yellow and gaffed it in the kelp. STOKED Then on the last patty it went wide and I manajed to catch a yellow on my baitcaster and just added to the wonderful trip. So fish count for me 2 Yellowtail 1 BFT Overal great fishing great crew and great times on the water.
