Hope the bluefin and albies make a good showing this year. My good fishing buddy just got a 24ft boat with twin out board, and he wanted me to go with him and chase exotic this year. He say his boat can run 47 kts nicely. We are planing a outer bank trip, and yes I'm planing on doing alot of chumming while out there......lol

This is exactly how our local offshore season starts, and how the fish are found. Long Range Cadillacs on their way back from 8-16 day trips drive right through all the zones where the fish move up and into our waters. When things start to look good (purple blue water, good temps, fish sightings) they put the jigs out. Then they report back to the 1-3 day fleet what they saw, and the ball gets rolling.

Report: Purple blue 63.9 degree water @ 179 miles, Captain Paul in the "Indy" decided to put out a zucchini broomtail tuna jig while traveling, and they catch this BFT. Kelps in the area were holding (yellowtail), and spots of bluefin were seen. The good water was as close to Pt. Loma as 165 miles.

That's 2-3 day range, and boats are planning trips now with that dope. The "Prowler" already had an exploratory trip planned, and I'm sure Buzz will be well informed by Paul. The SAC plane is going up this weekend to look around too, so the offshore scene is about to start.

I would do more reports but my new Apple MacBook Pro doesn't work for this site!? I can't post anything with it, as its not compatible I guess. I have to use my old MacBook to post on here, and sometimes that is not possible because I use this one to run chart programs and stream them onto my other system. I have to shut everything down just to post a comment. MIKE!!! HELP!!! (he knows, LOL)
Dave (Saltwater Bass) used to copy/paste my reports from the COB to here, but hasn't in a while. He needs to get married already and get back on it!
