Payne Lake 9-23-2012
#1
Headed out to a little lake in Barry County lastnight. The lake is devided into two sections. A deeper section with slopping depth changes to the east and a shallower section with sharp drop off to the west. The depths at the drop off go from 2 feet down to 10, then down to 30. We tried the shallows in the deeper section for bass to start. My wife caught a nice 16 inch large mouth bass. As we were moving to the west side of the lake we had to navigate through a very shallow section of lake. As we were moving off this shallow flat I dropped in my thunder stick jr and let it troll behind the boat. Almost immediatly I hooked into a 24 inch pike. We trolled the drop offs for the next 2 hours marking an insane amouth of fish. However we were unable to catch any more fish. I am unable to post any pictures in this thread because I am posting from a work computer. Check our Blog for pics since I posted them over there from my phone this morning.
