Suspension lifted
#1
Well, my suspension is over. I am back at work, while I'm happy to be getting paid again I have come to truly dislike my job. Not the job itself, but the culture that the owners have developed. Zero respect for employees, "training" only through disciplinary action and absolutely no recognition for a job well done. So I've taken the past week, researched some jobs that a college drop out qualifies for. The only thing worth while and something I would love, Michigan DNR. Conservation Officer. So my goal for January is to take all the steps to take my Civil Service exam and begin this process. Sorry for the rant but I'm alone in my office and needed to vent. Ha!

Nice work man sometimes we just need time. I had been working for really large companies for the last 10 years. Always busting my hump to make more money for both the company and hopefully me. Averaging 11 million in sales for years and making a small percentage of that. Well they were going to make some changes. I was presented with working until now and possibly getting fired or layed off or leaving in November and taking a buyout. I chose the buy out and now work for myself. I make less money but I also have less stress. This was a great relief.

Yeah it's taken 28 years but I think I've finally found a career I would love. Everyone in my family has been very lucky to work their Dream Job. Often times with little or no college. I know it will be a lot of work but it will be worth it for sure. I may need to move to find work, which would be hard for me and my wife but she supports me 100% so I'm getting on the ride and staying in til the end.

all i can say is go for it, that will be cool and i will speak for all on Offishial Business that we will support you and your choice that job would rock, plus the perks of fishing place that others cant!

It does suck when companies change and things seem to go south, however there is an old adage, when one door closes another opens, maybe this is the door closing for the new one to open. good luck

Thanks Mikey. And I would be lying if being outdoors dealing with hunting and fishing issues was not a huge motivating factor 1
