Big Bear Lake report 2/20/15
#1
Took my boy and his buddy to Big Bear today for a hopeful trout bite. The lake water level is down about 15 feet, and warm temps made for some hard fishing. There are fish there, but we only caught one. It was a nice 2 pounder, and probably the biggest I have ever pulled out of that lake. There was a fair amount of people fishing for a weekday, but I didn't see any other fish caught. I would have had two, but the area is very rocky, and good for snagging your weights. It's still one of my favorite places to fish fresh water, but it is very slow.

Once boats are allowed back on the lake, I'll hit it up again. Most of the good spots require a boat. However, if the ocean turns back on hot by then, I won't be found on any lake.
