Diawa lexa vs shimano curado
#11
Out of all reels that spec.. size. The Lexa is the cheapest on the market, sitting at 199.00

The lexa on a seeker inshore 807 with 80 lb braid 80 lb top shot is a sick lug rod

after the first season, check the bearing (maybe upgrade) new drag washers all in all $30.00 and you got a reel that will got 5 solid years with good maintenance before you will need to rebuild. thats my 2cents

My reels are all filled with after market grease and lube the very first day. Prolongs the life of any reel. Does matter what companys reels. Find a product you trust and use on all your reels. I take my apart after every use, and service each time as well.

haha no i just didnt know. Also you got to think what is the use of the reel for. You arent gonna throw a Jerk Shad on a EJ, or pitch a 1/2 led head at the wall on it . Its more for throw irons(only if matched with the right rod) 8"slugs, 1oz and above lead heads. Bigger bait profiles is more for the EJ and the Lexa too

actually your wrong there. that night me, you, and mikey killed it on the wall, i was using the 300EJ the whole time and all i was fishing was the 1/2oz sled head. Thats whats so great about that reel. Its so versatile. i've caught small calicos on the wall, 4# sandies at izors, and dorado and yellowtail on paddies. But catching dodo's and yellows on straight braid sucked. no shock obsorption like with mono. You feel every little tiny head shake and everything. my rod was bouncing all over the place. Thats why i would say find something in that arena that has a good sized spool so you can put 30 or 40 yards of mono to somewhat soak up the fight. just my 2 cents

I would rather throw the 200 or in my case the inshore for the wall and lighter stuff... Agree?

#18
oh definitely agree. I find that using the smaller baitcaster handle is a little easier than the power handle on the EJ. but when the fish are biting you use whatever is set up at the time...ha
